To mark their 140th Anniversary Steiff have returned to their beginnings. From founder Margarete Steiff and her fledgling wool felt “Elefantle” in 1880, to the very item long associated with the premier Teddy Bear maker, the Teddy Bear itself. Here is a wonderous pairing of a classic Steiff Teddy Bear featuring a wool felt Elephant upon his paw, reminding us of the love, comfort and sentiment of Steiff’s past many valued and varied creations, whilst paving the way for today’s captivating releases.

Teddy Bear is 30cm /12″ in size and fully jointed. He has been sewn from a luxuriously sparse textured, golden sand mohair with co-ordinating, warm wool felt paws. His left of which has been embroidered with “140 Jahre” (140 years), matching the same sky blue hue as his sumptuous, long tailed satin ribbon bow. Glossy black safety eyes and a smart hand stitched, inverted pentagon, chocolate nose adds a soft gentleness to his appeal, resulting in a caring demeanour. Upon his outreached right hand is the treasured “elefantle” complete with saddle cloth, in the finest wool felts of white, sky blue and yellow, with glossy black beads for eyes. In finishing Teddy proudly wears a special edition 140 years pendant, complete with the elephant logo.
